Stereotype type threat occurs when opportunities or perceived opportunities present itself for an individual to "satisfy" negative stereotypes related to their social identities/ group.
In this workshop, we unpack and understand the role of socialization and the messaging that reinforces stereotype threat. Participants begin to explore how to interrupt this phenomenon to foster an equitable learning environment. Participants leave with strategies on how to counteract stereotype threat.
