To address the work-based learning component required for Programs of Study approval, Waubonsee Community College faculty developed a team-based challenge scenario for students in the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Certified Medical Assistant, and Registered Nursing Programs. We will share the details of our first (but not last!) Health Care Skills Event where our students in these programs worked to transition their “patient” from one department to the next. Join us to hear what worked well, what lessons were learned for next year, and what students thought about the experience. Information can be applied to develop team-based challenges in other CTE disciplines.
